Commercial Building Emergency Preparedness

7/13/2020 (Permalink)

If your commercial building were to suffer a water damage from a burst water main, would you and your employees be prepared?

Make a Plan!

First ask yourself some "what if?" scenarios. Would your employees know what to do? How will you ensure their safety? Once you ask yourself these questions, put them together and create an emergency plan for your business. The plan should include safety for everyone, a set of procedures to follow, and how to carry on with business to avoid a disruption in cash flow.

Here is a list of important things to include in your plan:

  • an emergency contact list (accessible from off-site)
  • emergency procedures
  • emergency staffing instructions
  • vendor lists and contact info
  • data backup plans and other resources to support business operations in case you have to temporarily or permanently relocate your business operations.
